The idea of giving a new purpose to something that once seemed destined for only one use always fills me with wonder and curiosity — especially because of the creativity involved — and in some cases, it even moves me.
Recently, I read about a stadium in Taiwan that had been abandoned since 2008. There is nothing more desolate than these large, decaying structures: huge, unused, empty spaces occupying land that many cities could transform into green, living areas that offer oxygen and vitality to their residents. The Zhongshan Football Stadium was reborn as a large community garden, where the stands were transformed into traditional terraces for growing all kinds of plants.
And it makes me wonder: what are we doing in Spain with these abandoned spaces? Could we turn them into sustainable and community-centered places?
